  • 1.3 kg pork shoulder
  • 125 ml bbq sauce
  • 250 ml ginger beer
  • 1 large onion chopped into small wedges


  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried parsley


  • Remove the extra layer of fat from the outside of the pork (as long as it comes away easily)
  • Combine the rub ingredients and rub all over pork.
  • Place the pork on the trivet inside the Inner Pot and pour over the bbq sauce and ginger beer, and toss the onions pieces on top.
  • Select High Pressure and programme for 70minutes. Followed by natural pressure release.
  • Remove the pork and shred with two forks.
  • With the sauce still in the pot, select the Saute function and reduce the sauce to about 125ml.
  • Add the pork back to the pot and keep warm.


Serving Suggestion:
Then serve this in an OLD EL PASO brand Stand-n-Stuff taco with iceberg, guacamole, sour cream, salsa (they sell all three in one pack so three of those) and grated cheese (could buy already grated):
